This course of instruction is exclusively for Security Guards and Security Companies that are GAFASTA approved.

This online course is per Georgia Board of Private Detectives and Security Agencies 509-03-.02

Security Guard Training as per Georgia Board of Private Detectives and Security Agencies 509-03-.02 required 40 hours of training. This Blended Training is designed to minimize classroom time and is self-paced. 

Once the Student registers online...

• He or She will complete the unarmed and armed tests using the student guides with a minimal passing score of 100 percent.

• Once you complete both tests contact our Director of Training to schedule your eight (8) hours classroom and firearms range training /qualifications.

Students will earn their “15-hour Armed” and “24-hour Unarmed” certificates of completion upon successfully completing the courses and qualifications. 

Firearms Training Location:

Our 80-acre outdoor firearms training facility is located at 3161 State Hwy 11 Monroe, Georgia.

Students will need the following gear:

• Pistol
• Holster (no inside the waist band, no cloth or Nylon holsters)
• 2 Magazines
• 5 Dummy Rounds or Snap Caps
• Ear (Amplified recommended) and Eye Protection
• Beverages and Lunch
• Tactical Flashlight (Thumb Operated)
• 150 Rounds of Ammunition

Student will also need to bring:

• Photocopy of their Driver’s License (There is not a copier at the range!)
• Photocopy of their Georgia Weapons Carry License (or state carry weapons permit)

Georgia Weapons Carry License:

Most Armed Security Guard Companies require their security guards to have a valid Georgia Weapons Carry License.

Georgia Weapons Carry License can be applied through your County Probate Court or local Sheriff’s Office. Your County Probate Court Judge or local Sheriff’s Office will conduct an extensive background check that will take approximately 2 to 6 weeks.

Students will demonstrate safe gun handling from the basics to advanced tactical drills including but not limited to; Shooting and moving, use of cover, malfunction and stoppage drills, tactical and combat reloading, room clearing, close quarters combat, failure drills, transverse shooting with multiple threats, shooting with flashlight and drawing drills.

What the Student does next:

• Your employer will have you fill out forms on the Georgia Board "GOALS" application.
• Your employer is responsible for ensuring your paperwork is complete and notarized.
• Your employer is responsible for forwarding your paperwork to the Georgia Board.
