This online course is per Georgia Board of Private Detectives and Security Agencies 509-03-.02

To become an "Armed Security Guard" you are required to take “40 Hours” (24 hours Unarmed and 15 hours Armed) of Security Guard Training as per Georgia Board of Private Detectives and Security Agencies 509-03-.02. This Blended Training is designed to minimize classroom time and is self-paced. 

Once the student registers online....

• He or She will start the Unarmed portion by completing the six (6) required online videos and quizzes with a minimal score of 100 percent.
• Students will then take the online tests for both the Unarmed and Armed Security Guard using the student guides with a minimal passing score of 100 percent.
• The Student will then contact our Director of Training to schedule their eight (8) hour classroom and firearms range training/qualifications.

Students will then earn their "15-hour Armed" and "24-hour Unarmed" certificates upon successful completion of firearms training and qualifications.

You are required to complete "6" Online Videos

for “Unarmed Security”. They are:

1. Introduction to Security
2. Law of Arrest
3. Interviewing Victims and Witnesses
4. Report Writing 1
5. Report Writing 2
6. Security Officer Safety
   
   

Firearms Training Location:

Our 80-acre outdoor firearms training facility is located at 3161 State Hwy 11 Monroe, Georgia. Please dress for outdoor weather conditions.

Students will need the following gear:

• Pistol
• Holster (no inside the waist band, no cloth or Nylon holsters)
• 2 Magazines
• 5 Dummy Rounds or Snap Caps
• Ear (Amplified recommended) and Eye Protection
• Beverages and Lunch
• Tactical Flashlight (Thumb Operated)
• 150 Rounds of Ammunition

Student will also need to bring:

• Photocopy of their Driver’s License (There isn't a copier at the range!)
• Photocopy of their Georgia Weapons Carry License (or state carry weapons permit)

Georgia Weapons Carry License:

Georgia Weapons Carry License can be applied through your County Probate Court or local Sheriff’s Office. Your County Probate Court Judge or local Sheriff’s Office will conduct an extensive background check that will take approximately 2 to 6 weeks. Most Armed Security Guard Companies require their security guards to have a valid Georgia Weapons Carry License.

Students will demonstrate safe gun handling from the basics to advanced tactical drills including but not limited to; Shooting and moving, use of cover, malfunction and stoppage drills, tactical and combat reloading, room clearing, close quarters combat, failure drills, transverse shooting with multiple threats, shooting with a flashlight and drawing drills.
