Rodney Smith is a retired U.S. Navy Chief with 24 years of Military Service and 12 years in Law Enforcement. His Military and Law Enforcement experience encompassed a variety of duties which included U.S. Navy Firearms Instructor, Chief Security Force Supervisor, Emergency Preparedness, Master Training Specialist and trained with U.S. and Foreign Special Forces.

Apollos is a U.S. Navy veteran with over 9 years of experience as a Gunner’s Mate (GM 2) Petty Officer Second Class. He is trained and experienced in Anti-Terrorism, Force Protection, Physical Security and NCB/VBSS (Non-compliant Visit Boarding Search and Seizure). GM2 is well-versed in the maintenance and repair of a wide range of firearms and stands as GAFASTA’s head Armorer and Senior Firearms Instructor. Apollos has been involved with firearms and shooting sports since the age of six through programs such as the Boy Scouts of America and Project Appleseed.

TIM FLEMING

Tim has over 10 years of experience in full-contact Martial Arts and Unarmed Combat with former Military Instructors. In that same span of time, Tim also was in charge of the Security Group for several well-established and occasionally “troublesome” entertainment venues. Through these opportunities he refined his Threat Analysis and Resolution Management skills within constantly changing scenarios. He has traveled the globe extensively and still travels outside of the U.S. on a regular basis. Recently, a project he worked on involved testing Discrete Armored Vehicles.
Tim moved to the U.S. from England in 2006 and is proud to say that he is a U.S. citizen now.

JOHN BECKWORTH (JB)

John Beckworth enlisted in the Georgia Army National Guard in 2002 and served six years in a Long Range Surveillance Unit. After his tour of duty, Sergeant Beckworth worked as a Private Military Vontractor (PMC) for five years deployed in the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Throughout his Military and PMC career JB has become highly skilled and trained in urban Warfare,Tactical Handgun, Shotgun and Carbine. Sergeant Beckworth is a Senior Instructor that brings a wide variety of skills and combat experience to the GAFASTA team.

Stacy has been an NRA Certified Instructor for the last two years and is working on her Senior Instructor Certification. Stacy is one of two GAFASTA Public Relations Officers and a Financial Adviser. Stacy works a full-time job at Heilind as a Customer Business Manager, but also enjoys being an integral part of the GAFASTA team.

Diane’s enthusiasm for shooting led her to become an NRA Certified Instructor. She simply wants to share her knowledge of firearms, both for protection and sport. She is continually pushing her training to expand her knowledge of firearms and most recently received her Refuse to be a Victim Certification. She has a passion for training others to be prepared for unexpected situations. Her goal is to help those that are curious or reluctant about guns and help them gain the proper knowledge and respect regarding firearms. Diane was Disaster Specialist Human Resources volunteer (DSHR Certified) for the American Red Cross in an effort to help hurricane Katrina evacuees and assisted victims of fires in Fulton County, ensuring their comfort and well being in their time of need. Diane is working on her Senior Instructor certification.
